Memecoin sniper and copy trading agents
Updated by the Circuit team
What a sniper agent does
A sniper agent buys a new token in the first moments it can be traded. It watches for a launch like a new pump.fun coin on Solana or a new liquidity pool on an EVM chain. It sends a buy as soon as the pool exists. The thesis is that early buyers get the lowest price and sell into the demand that follows.
Most sniper agents run inside Telegram. You send the agent a token address or set rules. It buys from a wallet it created for you. Many add auto-sell rules, anti-rug checks and copy trading of other wallets.
A copy trading agent is the slower cousin. It watches wallets that trade well and buys what they buy. For memecoins that usually means a list of Solana wallets with strong recent PnL.
Why sniping is a latency race
A sniper's edge is measured in blocks. Solana produces a block about every 400 milliseconds. A launch that attracts attention can move several multiples in the first few blocks. An agent that lands its buy one second late may pay many times the first buyer's price.
That puts snipers in a different business from most trading agents. They pay priority fees so their transaction lands first. They submit before anyone has time to look at the token.
The price of speed is judgment. An agent that buys in the first block can't wait to see whether the deployer holds most of the supply or whether the pool's liquidity can be pulled. It buys every launch that matches its rules, including the ones that fail.
Telegram bots and custody
A Telegram trading bot usually creates a wallet for you and signs trades from its own servers. It can act on a chat message in milliseconds. Whoever controls those servers can move what's in the wallet. Two incidents show what that means in practice.
| Incident | What happened | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Banana Gun, September 2024 | Unauthorized transfers drained 11 users of $3 million. Banana Gun said attackers likely used a vulnerability in a Telegram message oracle to move ETH out of wallets while the agents were running. Banana Gun refunded users from its treasury and added a two-hour transfer delay and two-factor authentication for transfers. | Cointelegraph |
| Unibot, October 31, 2023 | A token approval exploit on Unibot's new router took about $580,000 from users who had approved it, according to PeckShield's estimate. Unibot paused the router and promised compensation. | The Block |
The pattern holds beyond those two. An agent that can sign instantly from a chat command holds a signing key in a place you don't control. Its security is the security of its servers, its chat integration and its contracts. Keep only trading money in such a wallet. Revoke router approvals you no longer use. Withdraw profits.
What Circuit can do for memecoin agents
Circuit agents trade memecoins through swaps and read onchain activity through Circuit's data. From the watched wallets, swaps and data commands references:
| Capability | What it gives an agent |
|---|---|
| Swaps on Solana | Routes through Jupiter and Relay with NEAR Intents on request |
| Swaps on EVM networks | Routes through Uniswap, KyberSwap, CoW Swap, Velora and Relay compared by exact output |
| Watch up to 100 EVM or Solana wallets | A continuous agent receives each of their transactions within seconds, with what each wallet sent and received |
| Watch any EVM or Solana wallet by trigger | A balanceChange trigger fires on each successful transaction that changes the wallet's balances, on every network of its family except Katana |
| FOMO leaderboards | Up to 150 top traders for the last 24 hours, 7 days, 30 days or all time, with PnL, volume and wallets |
| Solana token candles | Completed one-minute USD candles from a token's most liquid pool, including fresh pump.fun tokens |
| Any Solana wallet's holdings and recent trades | Read a wallet's SOL and tokens now, and its trades over the last hour |
| New EVM pools | Uniswap v2, v3 and v4 pools Circuit reads from the chain, filterable by creation time and minimum liquidity, ranked by trade count, volume or creation |
A swap takes its price from a live executable quote. Each swap has a default slippage of 1% and a minimum output floor that the route must guarantee. Agents start in paper trading by default. There swaps fill at the live executable quote and pay network fees from about $10 of simulated gas.
What Circuit cannot do
Circuit is the wrong tool for first-block sniping.
- No same-block buys. An agent sees a launch or a watched wallet's trade after it lands. Then it requests a quote. Then Circuit prepares, signs and submits the swap. That takes seconds. A first-block sniper works in milliseconds.
- No mempool access or bundles. Agents don't see pending transactions and can't pay to order their transaction ahead of others.
- No resubmits. A swap that fails or times out is never resent. Same-chain swaps have a 30-second lifecycle deadline. A submitted swap stays pending until the chain settles it.
- Routes decide what's tradable. An agent can buy a token only if one of Circuit's swap routes quotes it. A brand-new token with no routed pool can't be bought until a route picks it up.
- Solana transaction reads are limited. An account can read Solana transactions 20 times a minute.
What fits is everything a few seconds don't ruin. That means copying wallets with your own size and exits, buying tokens whose volume is already rising, and selling into targets.
Copy-buying a wallet, with the delay shown
Copying is never instant. The delay has a price. Say a watched wallet buys a pump.fun token still on its bonding curve at $0.00010. Your agent receives the transaction a few seconds later. Other buyers piled in and it quotes and fills at $0.00013. The leader later sells at $0.00015.
pump.fun's fee page lists 1.25% on bonding curve trades as of October 2026. Apply it on both sides of a $100 copy:
| Step | Math | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Leader's gain before fees | $0.00015 ÷ $0.00010 − 1 | +50% |
| Your effective buy price | $0.00013 × 1.0125 | $0.000131625 |
| Tokens for $100 | $100 ÷ $0.000131625 | 759,734 |
| Your effective sell price | $0.00015 × (1 − 0.0125) | $0.000148125 |
| Proceeds | 759,734 × $0.000148125 | $112.54 |
| Your gain | $112.54 ÷ $100 − 1 | +12.5% |
Before network fees the leader made 50% and the copy made 12.5%. If the leader had sold at $0.00013 the copy would have lost money on fees alone. A copy agent can skip any trade where the price already moved more than a set share from the leader's fill. A 15% limit avoids the worst of these.
Token screening
Circuit screens tokens that show up in wallets. It checks them against CoinGecko listings, the Uniswap default token list and Jupiter's verified tokens. It queries GoPlus for honeypot, airdrop scam and counterfeit flags. Tokens that fail are treated as spam and aren't valued in your balance. So are tokens whose names carry links or fake verification badges.
That screen protects what you see. It doesn't decide what an agent buys. A memecoin agent needs its own filters before every buy.
| Filter | Example rule |
|---|---|
| Liquidity | Skip pools under $50,000 of liquidity |
| Age | Skip tokens younger than 10 minutes or older than a day |
| Activity | Require at least 200 trades in the last hour |
| Price already moved | Skip if the price is more than 15% above the leader's fill |
| Position size | Never more than 2% of the agent's allocation in one token |
| Exit | Sell half at +50%, sell the rest at +150% or −30% |
Write these numbers into the spec and the Builder turns each into a setting.
Build a memecoin copy agent
A spec for Circuit:
"Every hour, pull FOMO's top 30 traders for the last 7 days and watch their Solana wallets. When one of them buys a token, check its one-minute candles. Buy $20 of it if the last candle's close is no more than 15% above the price the trader paid and the token traded on at least 30 of the last 60 minutes. Hold at most 8 tokens. Sell half at +60% and the rest at +150%, or everything at −35%. Never buy the same token twice in a day. Log every buy, skip and sell with the reason."
Run it in paper trading first. Swaps fill at the live executable quote there. You see the real cost of arriving seconds late. The copy trading guide covers copying Hyperliquid perp traders. It works the same way on perps.
Keys and permits
Agents run on a wallet you create in Circuit or import by private key. Circuit keeps the signing key in a hardware enclave. Agents never see it. An agent requests typed actions through Circuit's SDK. Nothing is signed without the permit you sign with your passkey when you start the agent.
You can export the private key from Settings at any time. You can pause, resume or stop an agent at any time. Stopping leaves your positions and resting orders in your account. You ask Circuit to close them.
What it costs
Circuit charges no fees today and adds no builder fee to Hyperliquid or Polymarket orders. You pay the venue's trading fees, network gas and any bridge or routing fees. Each prepared action's review shows the costs it reports before you confirm. Today's terms make no commitment about future fees.
FAQ
What is a memecoin sniper agent?
An agent that buys newly launched tokens in the first blocks they trade. It assumes early buyers get the lowest price. Most run in Telegram and sign from a wallet the agent creates and controls.
Are Telegram trading bots safe?
They carry custody risk because the agent's servers sign for your wallet. In September 2024 Banana Gun users lost $3 million through unauthorized transfers. Banana Gun later refunded them. In October 2023 a Unibot router exploit took about $580,000. Keep only trading money in an agent wallet.
Can Circuit snipe pump.fun launches?
No. Circuit agents react in seconds after a transaction lands and can't buy in the launch block. They can read one-minute candles for fresh pump.fun tokens and buy once a swap route quotes the token.
How does memecoin copy trading work?
An agent watches wallets that trade well and buys what they buy scaled to your capital. On Circuit a continuous agent can watch up to 100 Solana wallets and receive each of their trades within seconds. Then it applies your own filters, size and exits.
Can I paper trade a memecoin agent?
Yes. A swap agent starts in paper trading by default. Swaps fill at the live executable quote and pay network fees from simulated gas. You see the real cost of arriving after the wallet you copy.
What is the best memecoin copy trading agent?
One whose rules you can read and test. Check who holds the signing key, whether you can cap position size and set exits, and how it handles the delay between the leader's buy and yours. Paper trade it before using real money.
