Crypto copy trading agents

How copy trading works on Circuit

A copy trading agent watches someone else's account and places scaled versions of their trades in yours. On Circuit the copied trades land in your own wallet's venue accounts. Your rules size them and your own stops close them. Nothing is pooled with other followers.

Agents can watch three kinds of source:

  • A public Hyperliquid wallet's perp positions. The ready-made copy trading strategy checks them every five minutes.
  • Any EVM wallet's perp positions across venues. A position trigger reads a wallet's positions on every Hyperliquid perp dex, its Lighter main account and its Papertrade account about every ten seconds. It fires when a position opens, closes, resizes or flips.
  • Any wallet's transactions in real time. A continuous agent can watch up to 100 EVM or Solana wallets and receive each of their transactions within seconds.

Live copy agents appear at the end of this guide and on the live agent list.

Copy a Hyperliquid trader

The Hyperliquid copy strategy mirrors increases, reductions and direction changes in proportion to the source account's equity and your capital. It caps combined position value at your allocation and any one coin at 25% of it. It closes a copied position after a 5% move against your entry and does not reopen it until the source trader closes and opens a new one. It finishes closing before reversing direction and stops opening positions if the source account cannot be read. The wallet, scaling factor, caps and stop are all settings. More on the venue in Hyperliquid trading agents.

Worked example: proportional sizing

A source wallet has $2,000,000 of equity. Your allocation is $3,000. The scale is 3,000 ÷ 2,000,000 = 0.15%.

Source position Share of source equity Your proportional size After the 25% coin cap ($750)
BTC long $1,000,000 50% $1,500 $750
ETH long $400,000 20% $600 $600
SOL short $100,000 5% $150 $150
HYPE long $4,000 0.2% $6 skipped

The BTC copy is cut to $750 by the per-coin cap. The HYPE copy is $6. Circuit rejects new Hyperliquid orders under $10 so it never opens. Your book totals $1,500 of position value. That is half the allocation. The source runs $1,504,000 on $2,000,000 or about 75%. Caps make a copy smaller and less concentrated than the original. That is usually the point. It also means your returns will not match the leader's.

Opening all three at Hyperliquid's 0.045% base taker fee costs $1,500 × 0.045% = $0.68.

Worked example: lag and stops

A five-minute check means a copy can land minutes after the leader. Suppose the leader buys ETH at $4,000 and the agent copies at $4,040. You start 1% behind. The 5% stop then sits at $4,040 × 0.95 = $3,838.

If ETH drops to $3,838 your $600 copy closes for a $30 loss plus fees. The leader entered lower. They are down only 4.05% and may hold. Your stop fired first because your entry was worse. Lag and independent stops make copies diverge from the source. Judge a copy agent by its own results.

Faster triggers shrink lag. A position trigger reads perp positions about every ten seconds and wallet watches arrive within seconds.

Worked example: what a stop costs and saves

Say the leader goes long BTC at $100,000 and your agent copies $750 at $100,500. Your 5% stop sits at $100,500 × 0.95 = $95,475.

  • BTC dips to $94,000 and recovers to $110,000. Your stop fires on the dip. You lose $750 × 5% = $37.50 plus fees. The leader held and ends up 10%. The strategy does not reopen until the source closes and opens a new position. You miss the recovery.
  • BTC keeps falling to $80,000. The leader is down 20%. You are down 5%. That is the same $37.50.

A stop turns an unknown loss into a known one. It also means a copy agent will sometimes exit trades the leader wins. Wider stops track the leader more closely and lose more when the leader is wrong. The stop is a setting. Paper trade two or three values before picking one.

Choosing a source

Source Venues How fast Where to start
Hyperliquid copy strategy Hyperliquid perps Every five minutes The ready-made spec
Position trigger Every Hyperliquid perp dex including HIP-3, Lighter, Papertrade About every ten seconds Describe it to the Builder
Wallet watch EVM and Solana token trades, including new Solana launches Within seconds Describe it to the Builder
FOMO leaderboard The traders' EVM and Solana wallets Refreshed on your schedule Name the window and count to the Builder

Perp copies suit traders who hold for hours or days. Solana watches suit fast token trades, where seconds matter and liquidity is thin.

Check what the leader is really doing. A trader running a delta-neutral funding trade holds spot plus a short perp. A perp copy mirrors only the short. Their hedged carry becomes a naked short for you. The sources above cover perps and token trades on EVM networks and Solana. Agents that trade prediction markets on signals are covered in Polymarket trading agents.

Follow Solana wallets in real time

A continuous agent passes up to 100 Solana wallets to Circuit and receives each of their successful transactions within seconds. Each comes with the net amounts the wallet sent and received. Both sides moving is a swap. One side alone is a transfer. The agent can ignore airdrops and react to buys. It can read any wallet's holdings and completed one-minute USD candles for fresh tokens including pump.fun launches.

Memecoin copies are the hardest kind. The leader's buy has already moved a thin pool by the time a follower buys. Say a leader's buy lifts a token 8% and your copy pays that 8%. A later 7.4% drop from your entry puts you at a loss while the leader is still flat (1.08 × 0.926 = 1.000). Good memecoin copy agents skip tokens without enough liquidity and cap size per token. See memecoin trading agents.

Pick wallets from a leaderboard

Agents can pull FOMO's top traders for the last 24 hours, 7 days, 30 days or all time. They get up to 150 traders with their rank, PnL, volume, trade count and wallets. They can refresh the list on a schedule so the watch list follows whoever is performing now. The Builder can also turn a FOMO username or leaderboard into triggers on the traders' wallets.

Read a leaderboard with care:

  • A 24-hour window rewards luck. A 30-day or all-time window says more.
  • High PnL on low volume can be one lucky trade.
  • A trader with large size can enter positions your capital cannot match. The caps above matter.
  • Recent winners attract followers, which moves prices against everyone copying them.

Copying well

  • Scale size to your capital and cap any single position.
  • Set your own exits instead of waiting for the leader to sell.
  • Skip tokens and perps without enough liquidity.
  • Stop opening positions when the source cannot be read.
  • Log why each trade was copied or skipped to audit the agent later.

Copy trading is one of several strategies in agentic trading. Trade with Claude covers using an assistant to pick wallets or tune the caps.

Test before you risk money

Agents start in paper trading by default. That means simulated funds on live markets and no real money moving. Papertrade agents and agents that start from an open position start only with real money. Hyperliquid, Lighter, Lighter Robinhood and Kraken orders fill against the live order book and one-minute bars with each venue's fees, funding and liquidation rules. Polymarket orders fill against the live book. Redemptions pay the market's real resolution. Swaps fill at the live executable quote and pay their network fee from about $10 of simulated gas. Paper sessions stay private and never count toward the leaderboard. Switch the same agent to real money when the results convince you.

Keys and permits

Agents run on a wallet you create in Circuit or import by private key. Circuit keeps the signing key in a hardware enclave. Agents never see it. An agent requests typed actions through Circuit's SDK. Nothing is signed without the permit you sign with your passkey when you start the agent.

You can export the private key from Settings at any time. You can pause, resume or stop an agent at any time. Stopping leaves your positions and resting orders in your account. You ask Circuit to close them.

What it costs

Circuit charges no fees today and adds no builder fee to Hyperliquid or Polymarket orders. You pay the venue's trading fees, network gas and any bridge or routing fees. Each prepared action's review shows the costs it reports before you confirm. Today's terms make no commitment about future fees.

Getting started

  1. Sign in to app.circuit.org with a passkey.
  2. Create a wallet or import an existing one by private key.
  3. Fund it with crypto, a transfer from an exchange, or a debit card through MoonPay.
  4. Open an agent from the live agent list, choose an allocation and start it. Agents start in paper trading by default. Papertrade agents start with real money.
  5. When the results convince you, start the same agent with real money. Pause, resume, top up or stop it from your home screen.

FAQ

Is copy trading profitable?

Only if the trader you copy keeps winning after your lag, caps and fees. In the sizing example caps cut a 75% exposure to 50% and a 1% lag moved the stop ahead of the leader's. Judge the agent's own paper results before real money.

Can I copy any Hyperliquid wallet?

Any public Hyperliquid wallet's perp positions can be read and copied. You set the wallet when you start the strategy and can change it later.

How fast does a copy trading agent copy?

The ready-made Hyperliquid strategy checks every five minutes. Position triggers read perp positions about every ten seconds and wallet watches deliver transactions within seconds.

What happens if the trader I copy gets liquidated?

Your copy has its own margin and its own stop. The source's liquidation does not liquidate you. The strategy mirrors the source's reduction. Your stop has already closed the copy if the price moved 5% against your entry first.

Can I copy Solana memecoin traders?

Yes. A continuous agent can watch up to 100 Solana wallets, read each transaction within seconds and read one-minute candles for new tokens including pump.fun launches.

Can I copy traders on Lighter or Papertrade?

Yes. A position trigger reads a wallet's Lighter main account and Papertrade positions along with every Hyperliquid perp dex about every ten seconds. Describe the copy rules to the Builder and it wires the trigger to the wallet you name.

Does Circuit charge for copy trading?

No. Circuit charges no fees today and takes no profit share. You pay venue fees and gas.

Build it on Circuit

Circuit writes the agent and backtests it. Paper trade it before you fund it.
