HYPE is the token of Hyperliquid, the layer one blockchain whose HyperCore runs fully onchain perp and spot order books. Per the Hyperliquid docs, HYPE is staked to validators under delegated proof of stake, and unstaking takes seven days. Staking HYPE also cuts Hyperliquid trading fees by 5% to 40% depending on the amount.
As of October 2026 the HYPE perp trades on Hyperliquid at up to 10x, with 5% maintenance margin, and on Lighter. HYPE spot trades on Hyperliquid too. Circuit bots can stake and delegate HYPE and deposit into vaults such as HLP, each as its own reviewed operation.
